Juventus look set to fleece Fiorentina when they meet at the Stadio Franchi this weekend in Serie A.

 

The Viola and the Bianconeri never get on at the best of times, and this contest will be no exception.

 

Juve need the points to maintain pressure on title rivals AC Milan, while Fiorentina must win to avoid being pulled further towards the relegation mire in Italy's top flight.

 

So an open game looks guaranteed, which will suit the Old Lady down to the ground.

 

Juve have won five of their last six, and conceded just once in five matches.

 

Fiorentina are travelling in quite the opposite direction.

 

Ex-Juve legend Dino Zoff was welcomed with open arms as coach by the hosts, but his side are just two points off the relegation zone, and have scored twice in their last four attempts.

 

Scoring isn't Zoff's only problem.

 

Fiorentina have a series of personnel headaches to resolve in advance of a Black and White invasion.

 

Super striker Valeri Bojinor is out with a thigh strain, and Fabrizio Miccoli is also struggling with an achilles problem.

 

The home team are also missing Christian Obodo and William Viali through suspension.

 

While things are going from bad to worse for the hosts, Juve welcome back the massively influential Pavel Nedved after a month off duty.

 

They will be missing Ruben Olivera after his dismissal against Chievo, but Nedved's availability opens up the option of a shift back to the much-favoured 4-4-2 shape for the visitors, who always look most dangerous playing in that formation.

 

Juve also come into this on the back of a sound record against the Viola.

 

The visitors haven't lost at Fiorentina since 1998, and beat them 1-0 in the earlier head-to-head this season.

 

It's hard to see this historical trend ending this weekend, and Juventus look well-placed to win this one too.
